Event registrations without names or emails

I’ve been getting a lot of event registrations without a name or email address, even though my registration form requires both fields to successfully submit the form. I recently added a CAPTCHA to the form and am still getting these “blank” registrations. Is this spam getting through the CAPTCHA or are legitimate registrations that are somehow having their names/emails wiped out?
