hello. I'm trying to use EME on 3 different pages of a site I'm working on, using shortcodes. The plugin used to work alright until I updated WP to 3.3.1, I believe, though I'm not certain. After updating, the permalinks to single event page wouldn't work properly, they reloaded the same page. Tried a few things I read about here and on the wordpress forum, and now the permalinks lead to the posts page of the site, which I don't use anyway. However, not even this happens when using the standard wp permalinks, which I'd prefer to use. Any ideas?

the site is at http://www.wrongmedia.net/stratos - if it seems greek to you it's because it is :-)
one of the EME shortcoded pages where you can see the problem is http://www.wrongmedia.net/stratos/athens/livemusic

thanks in advance.

I have an odd thing happening in the event links for the small calendar.
• If it is in the current month (March 2012 right now) when I click on the link it goes to the single event page - which is what I want.
• If it is in a future month it goes to the events listing page. This is true with a single event and reoccuring events. Also there is only one event on the dates with links.
I looked at all the settings and I am not understanding why the above is happening.
I would like all links to go to the single event page unless there is more than one event which I can see it going to the list.
Any ideas? Thank you!

In fact it is not a bug in eme: by removing/changing the setting "EME events page" you changed the EME behaviour, but in wordpress the permalinks stay until:
- you deactivate/activate the pluging that configures the permalink (eme in this case)
- you visit the permalinks setting and just press "save" again (not even need to change anything)

I can do the permalink thing on every page load of course, but that wouldn't be correct ...

All,

I managed to solve the problem based on Harper's last post. Disabling the permalinks structure works, but the interesting thing is, re-enabling the permalinks does not cause the problem to come back. Long story short, this problem was solved by just 'fiddling with' the permalinks settings, but not really changing anything.

Seems like it may be a bug with EME, but it's an easy fix from the user side.

Thanks for the great plugin!

Thank you for your reply. Even when I had it pointing to an existing page and had another page with the shortcode, on both pages, clicking on the Event link would take me to my new blog instead of to the event page. However, I fixed it totally on accident, by disabling the permalinks structure.

Franky,

I'm having a similar problem. I also investigated the solution from this post about a month ago: http://www.e-dynamics.be/bbpress/topic.php?id=637

I have the events page specified, and I've checked each plugin to see if there's a clash. The problem is here: http://your.nmsu.edu/events-calendar/

Let me know if you have an immediate solution, or if you'd like a temp admin login.

Hello,

I've been trying to figure my way out in EME on the first wordpress site I've built. On the main events page, there is a #_LINKEDNAME which should link to the Single event page. It has been doing this quite well. However, I just changed the setting 'Events Page' which says "This option allows you to select which page to use as an events page.", to none and inserted an events_list shortcode into a new page (I had only just figured out how to use the shortcode with EME, and had previously been). Suddenly, every event name I click on the events page just takes me to my "News" page (the default page for blog posts), and it still does this after I changed the 'Events Page' setting back to having its own page without any shortcode.

Any suggestions? I'm afraid to fiddle around with the settings any more until I can find out what happened.

Ideally I'd like to be using the shortcode instead of giving EME its own page, especially since I can't find any setting to make 'limit=0' one EME's own page, and it automatically stops displaying events further than two months ahead.

Thanks so much for this great plugin, I hope you can help me restore functionality.

Well, there's the option to remove all data+settings when deactivating the plugin: go into the settings of EME and check the option "Delete all EME data when uninstalling", then deactivate/reactivate the plugin and all EME options should be cleared. The rewrite rules seem to be another issue, but it's worth a try.

Im really keen to get this fixed but just running out of ideas... Is there anywhere else in the db that the plugin may have altered that would change the way this is handled..

Or maybe even a specific linux module that needs to be loaded (asides from mod_rewrite)?

Hi Franky,

Thanks for your advice... I did the plugins but that didnt fix it, also re saved.. permalink and checked .htaccess all looked fine. I uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin.. I was looking through phpmyadmin and found something that may be of use...

I found it under wp_options > rewrite_rules

{s:30:"events/(\d{4})-(\d{2})-(\d{2})";s:71:"index.php?page_id=1806&calendar_day=$matches[1]-$matches[2]-$matches[3]";s:13:"events/(\d*)/";s:43:"index.php?page_id=1806&event_id=$matches[1]";s:16:"locations/(\d*)/";s:46:"index.php?page_id=1806&location_id=$matches[1]";s:47:"category/(.+?)/feed/(feed|rdf|rss|rss2|atom)/?$";

Any ideas to how I could fix this... A rough guess is to completely remove events manager extended out of the mysql database but i couldn't find all of events settings in the db or does this do it automatically when you uninstal/reinstall?

Either it's wordpress doing this or your webserver (or another plugin). So:
- for wordpress: go in "Permalink Settings" and press Save (even if you don't change anything)
- for webserver: see the .htaccess files (if it is a apache server)

Love the plugin, so many great features and very flexible to build, it's great. I have got this working with no dramas on one of my testing servers.
I have read through similar forum posts here and yes i have checked wp_head and wp_footer. Ive tried with and without the javascript embedding option.. I have even looked into .htaccess file to see whats going on and that seemed all fine.

Could you please supply any assistance on how I can get this fixed?

Many Thanks,
